Report – Additional Reporting Services

Survey Sciences Group and the MSL Research Team are ready to serve your custom assessment, evaluation, and research needs.

Some of the most commonly requested MSL customizations are described below.

Pricing for these services can be found on our Pricing Page.

Additional Variables

MSL data may be merged with institutional records (such as GPA, residence hall, program participation, attendance records, etc) for additional analyses.

If approved by your IRB, the MSL team can include additional, non-identifying variables in your final dataset. Please note that these variables will not be included in your report.

Custom Question Report

Custom questions exceed the scope of the Standard MSL School Report. Instead, all custom question responses will be included in your data file.

If you would prefer to have your custom question frequencies summarized as an addendum to your report, you may purchase a Custom Question Report. This report includes the frequencies of up to 20 custom questions.

Responses to open-end questions will also be provided as a spreadsheet.

Supplemental Data Report

The Standard MSL report compares your institutional data the national sample and four comparison groups. A Supplemental Data Report provides five additional comparison groups. These may include:

  • Pre-defined comparison groups (Barron's selectivity, IPEDS categories)
  • Custom Benchmark Groups (see below)
  • Sub-groups within your comparative sample (effectively creating multiple comparative samples)

Custom Benchmark Group

If you are not part of a coalition but would like to compare your school against a specific group of institutions, you may create a Custom Benchmark Group of 5 or more schools.

Each Custom Benchmark Group will count as one comparison group in a Standard MSL School Report or in a Supplemental Data Report.

Other Custom Services

We are happy to consult with you about any services not described here. SSG is a custom survey research organization and can help you customize MSL to fit a variety of needs. A few examples include:

  • Merging data samples
  • Custom analyses
  • Case Studies
  • Qualitative in-depth research (using MSL data to focus efforts)
  • Longitudinal studies
